Moong and Chole Ki Daal
Lentils cooked in ghee, fresh herbs and
spices.
Ingredients
1/2 cup Chana (bengal gram
dal) Daal
1/3 cup Sabut Moong Daal
3 1/2 cups Water
1 tsp. Ginger chopped
5 cloves Garlic crushed
5 green onions chopped
1/2 tsp. Turmeric
1 tsp. Cumin
1/2 tsp. Garam Masala
2 tbsp. ghee (clarified
butter)
Salt & Chili Powder according
to taste
Method
1.Clean and wash dal.
In a pressure cooker, put dal, water, ginger, garlic, turmeric, salt,
chili powder and close.
2.Place cooker on maximum heat and bring cook for 10 minutes.
3.Take it off the gas & do not take the steam out. Let it cool
gradually. Meanwhile, heat Ghee(clarified butter) in a frying pan. Fry
cumin and turn off the heat.
4.Now add green onions and garam masala.
5.Since the Ghee(clarified butter) is hot, onions will get cooked a
little. Pour this mixture on Dal and stir.
6.Give Dal another boil and eat hot.
