Steamed Rice

The basic technique of preparing boiled rice.The staple diet of India.

Ingredients

125 gms. long grained rice

2 cups water

Serve with

        Any dal or Curry.

Method

1.Wash rice 2-3 times, rubbing gently between the palms and drain well.
2.Place the rice into a bowl, add water and leave aside for 15-20 minutes.
3.Cover the bowl and place in a large vessel containing water which is boiling & steam it for 40-45 minutes or till the rice is tender.
4.Serve hot.
