Alu-Matar
Peas and potatoes cooked with tomatoes and
spices
Ingredients
2 tomatoes, washed and cut
4-5 potatoes
1 cup frozen peas
1/4 tsp. ginger powder
1/2 tsp. Cumin
5 tbs. Oil
1/2 tsp. Haldi
1/4 tsp. Coriander powder &
garam masala
3 cups water
1 tsp. chopped coriander
leaves
Salt & chili powder according
to taste
Serve with
Serve with puri, chapati or rice.
Method
1.In a pressure cooker
heat oil & fry cumin.
2.Add haldi (turmeric powder), crushed tomatoes, salt, ginger
powder and chili powder.
3.Now put potatoes and fry for 1 minute. Add peas, water, garam
masala and cilantro to this mixture.
4.Pressure cook on medium heat for 10-12 minutes or give 2
whistles. Take the steam out.
5.Garnish with coriander leaves & serve.
